In January I was thrilled to receive the degree of Master Artist from the Professional Photographers of America! (A multi-year process!) I was awarded the degree in recognition of photographic competence and enhancement of images with artistic techniques as demonstrated through photographic competition, advanced education, and service to the profession. In 2019, I was one of only 24 recipients. Celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, the PPA is the largest and longest standing nonprofit photographic trade association. Each year, during the annual convention, the organization holds a formal degree ceremony. Beforehand recipients have their portrait taken with their sponsor and the current President of PPA. I am pictured above with my husband Michael, who served as my sponsor, & Stephen Thetford, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, the 2018 PPA President. This year’s ceremony was held in Atlanta, Georgia.
